Eliminating Portal Friction for a Wholesaler’s Cyber Book

The Challenge

A national wholesale brokerage managing a high-volume Cyber book wanted to streamline placement and reduce the time its internal brokers spent on small policies.

To improve efficiency, the wholesaler rolled out a self-service portal and asked retail agents to log in to place business directly.

But adoption stalled. Agents were reluctant to log in and were still placing manually over email. Internal brokers continued to step in for low-premium Cyber accounts, pulling focus away from larger, more strategic deals.

How Flow Helped

Flow replaced the failed self-service portal with a fully managed placement service, handling Cyber submissions on behalf of the wholesaler’s retail clients.

Using AI-supported workflows, Flow:

  • Took over submission intake and data entry
  • Routed risks to the appropriate carriers and tracked responses
  • Upon bind request, delivered bound quotes back to the wholesaler for delivery

The Result

Internal brokers no longer had to touch small Cyber deals. The wholesaler eliminated placement friction, improved service to retail partners, and freed up broker capacity to focus on higher-margin business.

Key Takeaway

By partnering with Flow, wholesalers and retailers can remove submission friction, increase placement efficiency, and make small policies profitable again, without burdening their clients with platforms and logins.
